Surveys indicate there is an 85 percent probability that you are not in your dream job. A dream job is one that causes your heart to sing. It is a job that you must do—nothing can hold you back. Everything in your being is driving you. The passion within is so great that you will go to extreme measures to perform the work. And you would gladly do it for free. How do you find your dream job? One of the keys is to employ the C4 principle found in Scripture. (See Chapter 5 of my book Beyond If you know what you have a passion to do, you also know that a key element is that you delight in it. Whatever it is, you thoroughly enjoy and are excited about the works of the Lord in that area.
In my experience, I find that few people know what they have a passion to do. Others claim they don't have passion for anything. And still others claim they have too many passions. If any of these scenarios describes you, what should you do? Here is your business tip: Seek the Lord through prayer, meditation on Scripture, and godly counsel. With the help of godly advisors, apply the C4 principle to discern God's purpose for your life. Look deep inside your heart for the things about God's creation that bring delight to you. When you find it, you will be on the road to finding your dream job. If you are an employer or manager, look for workers who delight in their work. Such workers will always excel!
