Business is about finding a legitimate need and fulfilling that need well enough for customers to pay you for your product or service. In general, customers are not interested in paying for poor or even mediocre products and services. When buying almost anything, customers want a deal—quality products and services at a low price. This is commonly known as good value.
The delivery of good value is daunting for any organization. So how does an organization develop a value proposition that is truly excellent?
God has created two key principles that organizations must follow if they wish to produce an excellent value proposition. First, organizations must understand that all knowledge comes through revelation and second, no one person has all the revelation.
Most people believe they know what they know by virtue of their intellectual prowess; however, this is not the testimony of Scripture. Granted, the human mind is a powerful tool to facilitate learning, but how does the human mind produce true knowledge? The genesis of all knowledge must be the Creator of the universe; hence, no one can know anything unless it is given (i.e., revealed) to him. Note the words of the apostle Paul in the text above, which clearly states that everything anyone possesses has been given to him. This includes time, talent, treasure, knowledge, wisdom, opportunities, and so forth.
As created beings we cannot know anything unless the Creator chooses to reveal it to us. For example, to be good at sales you need revelation, to be good at management you need revelation, and to be good with financial matters you need revelation. Hence, in God’s universe the reason that you do anything well is that you have revelation to do it.
The corollary to the principle of revelation is the reality of limitation. No one person has all the revelation.
Given that the process to deliver most, if not all, products and services with excellence requires more revelation than any one person has, it is incumbent upon organizations to develop a synergistic team of workers who are trained and motivated to work well together—that is, who are equally yoked.
Here is your business tip: One of the keys to excellence in God’s universe is that knowledge comes through revelation and each person’s revelation is limited. Therefore when building an organization, you must carefully assess the revelation needed to deliver the desired value proposition and then work tirelessly to assemble an equally yoked team of people. Make sure the team has all the revelation needed to deliver the value proposition with excellence. By following this process, you will be lining-up with God’s principles, which will give you the best opportunity to deliver excellent products and services. Remember, in God’s universe only His principles produce lasting success.
